JURONG INNOVATION DISTRICT

Jurong Innovation District (JID) will be a 600ha innovation district covering Nanyang Technological University (NTU), CleanTech Park, and the surrounding areas of Bulim, Bahar and Tengah. JID will be home to several key growth areas that Singapore intends to develop, including advanced manufacturing, robotics, urban solutions, cleantech and smart logistics.

One of the first developments in JID is the JTC LaunchPad @ JID, which will be completed in 2017. It will house start-ups, incubators and accelerators, with a focus on advanced manufacturing. The close proximity to Nanyang Technological University, research institutes and a network of corporations will foster strong collaborations, promote synergistic growth, and accelerate commercialisation of new technologies amongst startups.

TENGAH HDB TOWN

The upcoming new Forest Town, Tengah, will further raise the bar for public housing. One major attraction will be the creation of a long forest corridor which will form part of the larger network of greenery. Amenities such as hiking trails would be incorporated in the corridor for the community to get close to nature and enjoy the rainforest.

For the first time, Singapore will also see a car-free Town Centre in an HDB town. The Town Centre will be designed amidst a lush park, with vehicles plying underneath the town centre. Road networks could support future forms of mobility, such as Autonomous Vehicles as well as various transportation networks, such as the upcoming Jurong Region Line (JRL) and buses that provide seamless connectivity to neighbouring towns and the city.
